2. Solution Implementation
The monitor was panel-mounted flush against the cabinet face, sitting close to the enclosure so the operator-facing surface stays clean and unobtrusive. Its removable embedded mounting hardware allowed the display to sit closely against the enclosure while maintaining a clean operator-facing surface.
Brightness is what makes this unit usable outdoors. The 1000-nit LED backlight keeps process pages legible even when sunlight falls directly on the screen, and the wide viewing angle lets a technician read values while standing off-center rather than dead-on.
For protection, the front carries an IP65 rating against dust and water, and the aluminum alloy housing gives the whole assembly the mechanical rigidity needed for a permanent mount inside a field cabinet.
Touch runs through a 5-wire resistive layer, which operators use to move between equipment pages, confirm alarms, and pull up maintenance notes. The display links to the station industrial PC via VGA, DVI, or HDMI, with touch input passed through USB — so the PC keeps running the HMI software while the monitor acts purely as the operator interface.
